Probability Theory

In these days of terrorism you would not be blamed for not wanting to fly. The probability of there being a bomb on board is pretty small, but it is not zero, and as long as that is the case, there is an unwelcome risk of death.

However, the probability of there being two bombs on board is so small that it may as well be considered to be zero, i.e. it will never happen. So I hatched this cunning plan and concealed a bomb in my luggage during my last trip to New York.

Unfortunately the security officials found the bomb and, not sharing my stunning grasp of probability theory, locked me up.
